The quiz was created as part of the exciting new initiative, ‘#WatfordTogether’, where all the town’s arts, entertainment, heritage and cultural organisations are working together, by using their creative talents, to help people in the town through the coronavirus pandemic.
Over 1000 people have taken part in the quizzes which is hosted by different charities to help raise awareness of the amazing work they are doing for the town. Special guests who have co-hosted include Mark Bonnar and Chris Stark. You will be able to find future activities on the dedicated website at www.watfordtogether.co.uk and on Facebook (facebook.com/watfordtogetheruk) which will both be updated regularly.
The money raised from the Quiz will go to our Community Fund created in partnership with Watford and Three Rivers Trust (W3RT) to support the fantastic charities involved in the COVID-19 relief effort in the town, such as food and medication right on the frontline, specialist advice on challenging areas such as domestic abuse, homelessness and mental health and offering practical help to young families facing the strain of isolation.
“I’m so grateful to all people in our town who have donated during our quiz last week. These funds will go directly to local charities who are on the frontline during this crisis, providing support for the most vulnerable. I’m really excited to be joined by Electric Umbrella and Mark Bonnar, star of The Quiz, to put people through their paces, have some friendly rivalry and raise money for such an important cause.”
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor
